3 Ways to Enjoy a Reno Backyard Hot Tub or Portable Spa

Tuesday, July 30th, 2019

One of the great benefits of a hot tub is that people can regulate both temperature and the strength of the jets to create the ultimate style of enjoyment they desire. Hot tubs offer homeowners many ways to create the perfect setting for different styles of enjoyment.

Here are 3 ways to get the most out of a backyard hot tub.

Relax with Family and Friends
Relaxation is one of the first things people may think about when they consider adding a hot tub to the yard or a patio. People automatically gather around the swirling water and it makes a great party feature as well as a place to simply unwind and spend time with loved ones.

Relieve Aches and Pains
Hot tubs are hard to beat when it comes to relieving all types of aches and pains. The heat and massage help bring blood flow to the area to help the body heal. Sore muscles, arthritis pain or general aches usually are relieved better by a strong, pulsating massage, whereas sprains or other injuries may feel better with a gentle, easy massage power from the hot tub’s jets.

Rest and Destress from a Long Day
Having a hot tub available right in the backyard makes it simple and easy to simply rest and relieve the stress of a long, hard day. In addition, soaking for just a few minutes every evening before bed helps people get to sleep faster and sleep better, so they are prepared for the day ahead. Set the temperature to a medium range with a soothing, mid-level jet power and let the day’s worries and stress just melt away each night.

So Go Ahead, Take a Soak, You Deserve It!
It’s fast, fun and relaxing. Not only that, it’s good for the body, soothes the mind and can improve your overall health and well-being.

To encourage local residents to check out the benefits of using a hot tub to help improve their overall health and well-being, The Spa and Sauna Company is providing free test soaks at all their showrooms. We do recommend, however, that people wanting to schedule their free 30-minute soak call us ahead of time to reserve their spot.

The opportunity for massage is one of the main reasons people buy hot tubs. The convenience of having massage options at home can be life changing.

There are some things to consider when selecting a hot tub with the best massage options for you.

You will want to make sure there are many jets, many different types of jets, and a powerful pump. You may also be looking for jets that can be aimed at different portions of your body for a head-to-toe massage experience.

For more tips on how to select the hot tub with the best massage options, read the original article here on Hot Spring Spas’ official website. The original article was first published online at HotSpringSpas.com.

Help Al Jackson – Spa and Sauna Team Member Who Had a Stroke

Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019

By Laura Varnon, Marketing Coordinator

Al Jackson, a long-time team member of The Spa and Sauna Company, had a stroke in February. Al had worked for The Spa and Sauna Company for over 14 years.

After his stroke, Al spent some time at Renown Hospital in Reno before being released to vocational rehabilitation, where he is relearning day-to-day tasks. Bills have been piling up and without being able to work, he is in danger of losing his home.

The Spa and Sauna Company has created a GoFundMe page, which can be accessed Here to assist with his recovery.

Help Al Jackson

Al’s History with The Spa and Sauna Company

Al was a community favorite with hot tub owners in the Northern Nevada community. He worked as a concierge technician and delivery crew member in the community and was often specially requested by Northern Nevada hot tubbers. Over the years, he has held many positions within the delivery and service department. Most recently, he also worked as a lead delivery trainer, teaching new crew members how to care for hot tubs and handle them appropriately.

How We Feel About Al

“Al is like family to us,” said Shelley Clark, co-owner of The Spa and Sauna Company. “He is so caring and loyal. We hope he can rehabilitate quickly. He is loved by so many.”

Danielle Gaba, service scheduler at The Spa and Sauna Company, worked closely with Al on a daily basis, arranging schedules for Al and other concierge technicians. She said she often would rearrange the concierge schedule because hot tub owners always wanted Al to service their hot tub.

“Overall, he’s just a good person,” said Danielle Gaba, Spa and Sauna Service Scheduler. “He always thought of others.”

Al was always a positive influence in the showroom too. He made up nicknames for his co-workers, left them the occasional gift, and always had a smile on his face. His friendly demeanor put everyone at ease, co-workers and customers alike.

“Al was somebody who every day brought up morale,” Danielle said. “All the (other) techs looked up to him. He was a good trainer.”

Kevin Thompson, sales manager at The Spa and Sauna Company, worked with Al for over a decade.

“There’s nobody quite like Al,” Kevin said. “Everybody loves Al.”

Kevin explained that Al was very well respected by members of the community, customers and his co-workers, most likely because of his ability to connect with people and make them feel comfortable. He was an authority on what hot tub owners needed to keep their hot tub in the best possible shape, and he genuinely had their best interests at heart.

“I always say he’s like the best salesperson we’ve ever had. Al has a high-level of respect for the company and the company’s best interest, which translates to the customer having the best experience every time.”

Trish Ferris, general manager at The Spa and Sauna Company, had a special bond with Al. They developed a friendship over the years and as a display of their friendship, Al would even leave her favorite chocolates on her desk as a treat.

“I love him to pieces,” she said, smiling at the memory.

Everyone at The Spa and Sauna Company misses seeing Al every day, and his absence is felt by the community too.

How Nevada Hot Tubbers Feel About Al

Here are some of the reviews Spa and Sauna customers have made on our Yelp and Google My Business pages about Al over the years.

Wife and I just received our spa from Reno Spa and Sauna company.  The delivery team was excellent.  There was no hesitation when they saw the old tub that needed removal (It has a gazebo built around it). Al, Anthony, Tony and Oscar all were professionals.”

“Purchased the 3x maintenance package with one being a total purge and so glad I did.  The staff is wonderful with scheduling. Had Al come out twice, very friendly,  knowledgeable and courteous. Al remembered my draining preferences and does a great job.”

“Installers Casey, Anthony, Al and Chris were very professional and did a great job. Thank you!!”

“Great team who handled delivery and answered all my questions — Casey, Anthony, Al and Austin.”

“The crew all introduced themselves when they arrived. They were polite, professional, had integrity in their work ethics. They not only showed respect towards us, but towards each other as they worked. This crew works well together. They represent The Spa and Sauna Company in the utmost professional mannerisms and are an asset to your company. Anthony, Casey, Al, Chris we cannot thank you enough.”

How You Can Help Al

Let’s all pitch in and help Al through this difficult time. To donate to Al’s recovery through the GoFundMe account The Spa and Sauna Company created for him, Click Here.

Hot Water Hydrotherapy, What Can a Reno Hot Tub do for You?

Monday, June 24th, 2019

Ever wonder what to expect from hot water therapy? Soaking in warm, massaging water can eliminate a wide range of musculoskeletal pains, reduce elevated stress and more. See what hot water therapy can do for you.

Here are 3 amazing ways the hot tub can help you feel better.

Decrease Aches, Relieve Pain
When pain hits, it’s hard to think about anything but relief. Luckily, hot water therapy targets pain precisely where it starts, allowing you to get relief fast. With comfortable seats for stretching, the hot tub delivers on-demand pain relief to every part of the body that needs it, from head to toe.

Cushion Joints During Exercise
For many of us, movement is tough or difficult as painful joints restrict mobility. Hot tub water is the perfect environment for pain-free exercise; with joints cushioned, exercise is easier and safer too. With regular use, a hot tub can increase mobility and flexibility.

Promote Cardiovascular Health
Step into the hot tub and the sustained elevated heat causes the heart to work harder. As heart rate increases, blood circulation improves. Similar to the effects of light cardiovascular exercise, just a few minutes of hot tubbing each week keeps the heart muscle pumping strong.

Monday, June 24th, 2019

Joint health is important for longevity, doesn’t need to be complicated, and can be as simple as staying in motion. Why not use water to ease the process?

Here are three ways a swim spa can help keep extra pounds at bay, relieve aches and pains and rejuvenate joints from the inside out.

Stress Free Exercise
Movement of any kind is a smart way to ensure joints stay agile. But not everyone can move freely without pain. Here’s where the swim spa can help. Whether you choose to swim a few laps, stretch gently in place or use resistance bands for toning and shaping, exercise in the swim spa is stress free and easy.

Swim Daily for Easy Weight Maintenance
If you carry excess weight, losing even a few pounds can dramatically decrease the pressure you place on your joints, easing pain and increasing joint health. With an adjustable current for swimming in place, the swim spa makes it easy to take a daily swim, helping to maintain a healthy body weight, all from the comfort of home.

Promote Joint Flexibility with Heated Massage
The modern swim spa can be equipped to swim laps on one end, and relax with soothing hydrotherapy at the other. An easy pain relief solution plus a complete aquatic gym, the swim spa delivers unmatched versatility.

So Go Ahead, Take a Swim, You Deserve It!

Why Take a Test Soak Before Buying a Spa? Santa Cruz Hot Tubs, Portable Spas

Monday, June 24th, 2019

So, you’re looking to buy a new hot tub spa, congratulations! But before investing in the most exciting hot tub on the showroom floor, take a few minutes to learn what you like, or don’t like.

Here are three reasons why taking a “test soak” before investing is a smart move.

Find the Most Comfortable Seating
Just looking at each model on the showroom floor will never give you the details you need about comfort when you’re in the water. Come try out a few styIes to see if you like bench seating, a lounger or something completely different.

Evaluate Access to Controls
Avoid buying the wrong hot tub by testing how easy it is to access controls when in the tub. See if you can easily reach your entertainment features, if you can turn massaging jets on and off, and if you like the jet configurations. Many people buy a fantastic hot tub only to get it home and realize the controls are not user friendly, once submerged in water.

Listen to How the Hot Tub Sounds When In Use
Filtration systems can sometimes be noisy. Trying out the tub you’re interested in when it’s actually running will allow you to mimic a real life soak—noise and all. Be sure to ask your dealer about energy efficient and low noise filters for a relaxed, quiet hot tub experience.
